First introduced for the Korean War in the early 1950s, the L-2A is a lightweight nylon flight jacket which boasts a boxy shape and superb freedom of movement. Dont let its light feel fool you though, this jacket has been specially manufactured for warmth at high altitudes, and luckily for us, the good people at Buzz Ricksons have crafted a brilliant reproduction of this iconic model.
A wool and nylon lining has been added to this jacket, along with an insulating membrane for superior protection from the elements, while knitted collar, cuffs, and waistband allow a neat fit at access points. Two snap fastened hand warmer pockets have been added, which sit beside a specially manufactured, period correct zipper for authenticity. The brand have also included a zippered utility pocket on the left sleeve, and a nylon oxygen flap on the chest for good measure.
